Mera, Island, and Khumbu Circuit

  Day 24: Chhukung-Chhukung Ri (5554m)-Chhukung

Day 24: Climbing Chhukung Ri
Day 24: Chhukung Ri and Lhotse
Looking north east, Lhotse was at the right and Nuptse on the left. Chhukung Ri is black mount on the left beneath Nuptse. In Nepali, lho means south, nup means west, and tse means peak, so Lhotse and Nuptse means south peak and west peak respectively.
Day 24: Chhukung Peak (5833m)
Chhukung is the brown peak at the center. On the left is Pumori.
Day 24: Top of Chhukung Ri (5550m)
Me taking a picture with the stupa. At the back was Chhukung Peak.
Day 24: Ama Dablam
Ama Dablam as seen from Chhukung Ri looking south. Chhukung village is on the lower right blocked by the ridge.
Day 24: Island Peak and Makalu
Makalu is the brown mountain at the center and Island Peak is just at it's left.
Day 24: Chhukung and Chhukung Ri
Viewed from the mount opposite Chhukung Ri. Chhukung is the black peak near the center of the picture, while Chhukung Ri is the rocky one below.
Day 24: West view
Looking west towards Imja Khola and valley from the mount opposite Chhukung Ri.
Day 24: Ridge line
This is the ridge leading north to Chhukung Ri (top of the picture) and south to the mount opposite (the current view point).
Day 24: King of the hills
Saw this black yak (or nak for female) after coming down from Chhukung Ri. At the back is Lhotse.
Day 24: Another yak
This yak (nak) was kept by the lodge owner of the campsite we stayed.
