Mera, Island, and Khumbu Circuit

Day 12: Mera High Camp : acclimatisation & alpine practice

Day 12: Mera glacier
We spent 1 day acclimatising at high camp. Shown here is the side view of Mera glacier seen from high camp.
Day 12: Kangchengjunga
Kangchengjunga, the world's 3rd highest mountain, at a very far distance on the right.
Day 12: Me at high camp
Me taking a picture at high camp, with Kangchengjunga as background.
Day 12: Our tents at high camp
The campsite was real small, surrounded by gully on the left and with the rock outcrops on the right.
Day 12: Our guides and kitchen crews
They are collectively known as 'sherpas'. They followed us up to high camp while the porters only carried the stuffs up and returned back to Khare to wait for us.
Day 12: Mera South
Not sure what peak this is. According to Assim, it is supposed to be Mera South, but I kind of doubt it.
Day 12: Toilet break
The campsite at the high camp is so small that we had to 'do our business' very close to the tents, and so had absolutely no privacy at all.
Day 12: Mera high camp
Our tents at Mera high camp viewed from the kitchen area which is a flat ground higher up at the rock outcrops.
Day 12: Scavenging crow
We were doing nothing at high camp, so I tried to pass time by shooting some crows scavenging around the campsite.
Day 12: Scavenging crow
Another crow.
Day 12: Scavenging crow
A crow flying in the blue sky.
Day 12: More crows
More crows.
Day 12: Ok last one
Now you see I had nothing better to do.
